Born from experience in the field
Metrico was founded in New Plymouth - with a clear focus: help New Zealand's water utilities get more from their data. Our founders came from the water sector, which means we understand the challenges councils and utilities face from the inside out.
We started with consultancy: BPM reviews, business case writing, UWM pilots, data management and project management. This was followed by operational services: managing meter installations, leak detection, data management, performance dashboards - building practical expertise in how water networks really work. That grounding informs everything we build.
Over time, we expanded into software, developing GIS applications specifically for the 3Waters context - and now WaterWatch, our customer water app. Today, Metrico bridges the gap between field operations and digital intelligence.
